letter from the chairman of EUConsult
June 2002
Dear Friends and Members,
The major event in the EUConsult calendar - the Annual Summer Conference - is just around the corner. I am pleased to say that most members will be coming to Noordwijk on 14-16 June, when the Annual General Meeting will also take place. This will give us the opportunity to discuss ways in which the activities of the Association can be of better service to you.
An important factor in being able to develop the organisation to its full potential is a steady growth in membership. We are making good progress in this respect with current membership running at 29 member companies. However, we are still a good way off from reaching our target of 50 members. Experience has proven that new members are best won through personal contacts, so please do not hesitate to recommend any individuals or companies who are active in our field - I would be happy to write to them and invite them to join the Association.
In this issue of the EUConsult Info Service, we are starting a regular feature of Member Profiles, so that we can gain a more detailed picture of colleagues and their businesses. Thank you to Judy Digney for joining me in getting the ball rolling here. The aim is to give all members the opportunity to contribute to this section. Thanks also go to Alessandro Bollo for providing details for our Members' Clients and Projects section which, along with details contained in the January issue, will form the basis for future improvements to the membership page of the web site.
A special thank you must also go to Henk Smit, not only for his contribution in organising and hosting the Summer Conference, but also for his most generous offer to sponsor the entire Saturday evening programme which is taking place in the very special setting of the beach house built in 1827 by King Willem I.
Looking forward to seeing you in Noordwijk.
Barbara Crole
Chair, EUConsult
