  • IFC working with Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Foundation

John Baguley and colleagues at the International Fundraising Consultancy (IFC) have secured an interesting client in Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Foundation. In the TV programme, Jamie Oliver took fifteen young unemployed people and in dramatic fashion trained them to be chefs in a new restaurant called Fifteen. IFC is working on their fundraising, initially creating a web-based membership programme; helping them to create a multi-level giving club, using cutting-edge technology to bring that from their website to the member’s desktops. As part of the programme, IFC is working on a CD-business card to be given to all customers with their bill, recommending they join and help the new Fifteen Trainees. This is a three step programme and the results will not be fully operational until later this year.

Fifteen restaurants are now open in London, Cornwall, Melbourne and Amsterdam and the IFC looks forward to working with Fifteen in developing new restaurants, each of which requires a major fundraising drive to secure its finances.

  • Delphi sets up new media fundraising department

Delphi has set up its own New Media department to ensure that fundraisers can exploit the growing opportunities offered by SMS, e-mail and the internet. The department’s service package has been compiled in partnership with HJC New Media of Canada, an acknowledged world leader in ‘E-philanthropy’. In addition, Delphi’s founder Roger Craver has set up a special weblog for fundraisers. Via The Agitator website, contributors write about all aspects of the profession. The site now includes accounts of successful direct marketing campaigns, search engine marketing and ‘Ten Tips for E-mail Fundraising’. Many topics are equally applicable to the European market.

  • John Tierney plays key role in initiating board benchmarking with BoardsCount service

John Tierney of transform management consultancy has teamed up with Agenda Consulting and The Governance Hub to launch a new service for governance in the third sector.  The BoardsCount service makes it possible for organisations to share and compare - in complete confidence – the performance of their boards. In addition, the service can help NPOs implement the new UK Code of Governance. There is also an online quiz which shows what benchmarking is all about, only takes 30 seconds and is free. Benchmarking boards hasn't been possible before, but with BoardsCount it now is.

  • Fundraising Initiatives offers Key2Giving service

Key2Giving (K2G) is a new and innovative method from Fundraising Initiatives to recruit and retain regular donors, while at the same time helping to increase donor loyalty. K2G is a key recovery service that donors subscribe to either online or as part of a face-to-face campaign. For a monthly direct debit to their chosen charity they receive a branded keyring and their keys are protected. If they lose their keys, and someone finds them and posts them to K2G, their keys will be returned to them. At present the service is being offered within the UK only.
