Letter from the chairman

2007 June

Dear Colleagues

On the eve of our Summer Conference in Dublin, I am pleased to welcome you to this edition of our Information Service.

Dublin will be our first ever themed conference, with three of the sessions concentrating on Building Our Businesses. Although there was a slight delay in confirming our keynote speaker this year, it was definitely worth the wait. The opportunity to hear Dr Pat Donlon speak is something that we can very much look forward to. And I would like to announce the exciting news that we now have an addition to the programme. Former Ambassador Dan Mulhall, who is currently Director General of the European Union Division at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin, will also join us on the Friday evening. I would like to thank both conference host Mary O’Kennedy and EUConsult member Neal Newman for their help in putting such a special programme together.

Dublin will also be a special event for a number of other reasons. As you know, the results of the recent election for new board members will be announced at the AGM. We will also be announcing a new Membership Secretary, as Fabienne Pouyadou will be stepping down from the board. Although this is sad news, as Fabienne has been a very active Board Member and valued colleague, I am sure that you will join me in wishing her well in her new position at Care International.

And finally, Dublin will be extra special for me, as it will be my last event as Chairman of EUConsult. I am particularly looking forward to being able to personally thank friends and colleagues for their help and support over the last six years. I have very much valued the opportunity of serving the Association and look forward to many more years as a “normal” member.

Looking forward to seeing you in Dublin or at a future event!

With best wishes

David Saint
Chairman, EUConsult
