Letter from the chairman

Dear Friends and Colleagues
With this letter comes another issue of the EUConsult Information Service. Thank you to all Members who have taken the time to contribute.
First of all I am delighted to let you know that, due to our spontaneous fundraising action at the Summer Conference, we have been able to make a donation of EUR 420 to the Cooperativa Sociale San Saturnino in Rome. The charity specialises in supporting social projects and combating homelessness. A big thank you goes to all who donated.
In September, the Board of EUConsult met at the offices of the European Foundation Centre in Brussels. New Board Members Martin Beck and Augustin Süssmair attended their first meeting (click here to see a photo and the full list of Board Members). During the meeting we took the opportunity to have a second ‘blue sky’ session, which will be used as the basis for the EUConsult Strategic Plan 2010-12. Once a draft is available, this will be worked on by the Board for presentation and discussion with Members.
While in Brussels there was also a meeting at the King Baudouin Foundation and I am delighted to report that the Foundation has kindly offered to host our Winter Conference, which will take place on 29-30 January 2009. We are currently working on the programme and you will receive this in November.
On 15 October Ramses Man and I hosted the Networking Lunch for Consultants at the IFC in Noordwijkerhout. It was great to be able to catch up with EUConsult Members and get to know a number of other consultants participating in the IFC, some of whom are likely to apply for membership of EUConsult.
